数万人を巻き込んでデスゲームと化したオンラインゲーム「THE NEW GATE」。最古参プレイヤー・シンの活躍によりついに、デスゲームからの解放を迎えようとしていた。しかし最後のボスを倒し脱出することができたと思った瞬間、 突如未知の光を浴び、500年後のゲーム世界に飛ばされてしまう。 シンは共にしていたサポートキャラクターの自立したその後などを知りつつ、自身が作った施設「月の祠」を拠点に元の世界に戻る方法を探っていく。
