Overview
Precocious tween Karin finds herself abandoned by her father in rural Japan. Living in a temple with her grandfather, she meets Anzu, a giant “ghost cat” and notorious layabout tasked with looking after her. Distrustful of her new guardian, Karin sabotages Anzu’s odd jobs for the townsfolk and befriends the eccentric local forest spirits. 南伊豆・池照町の一角にある草成寺で飼われていた猫、あんずちゃんは、10年、20年経っても死なず、30歳を過ぎて化け猫となっていた。飼い主であるおしょーさんの養子となり、寺の仕事を気まぐれにこなしつつ、日常生活をおくるあんずちゃん。彼と、町の人々との交流を描く不思議な物語。
