Overview

Marielle is a young girl currently living in a remote house deep in the mountains between Switzerland and France to recover her health. The story is told through the memories of her adventures with Memoru, a tiny alien girl who lives on a nearby island. Her people are gnome-like beings who are stuck on Earth after their spaceship crashed here.

Synopsis 日本語

中部ヨーロッパの山中にあるベレヌ村。そのベレヌ村の湖に浮かぶ小さな島に世界一小さな村、リルル村はある。宇宙船の事故で地球に不時着したリルル星人の住むところだ。リルル星人たちは身長10センチ前後で、皆がとんがり帽子をかぶっている。リルル村に住むメモルはとっても元気でおしゃまな女の子。両親のいるリルル星に帰る日を夢見ながら、毎日友達のポピット、ルパング、ピーとともに元気に遊びまわる。ある日鷲に襲われた小鳥を助けようとして湖の対岸に迷い込んだメモルが見たのは自分たちと同じ姿形、でも何十倍も大きい女の子がピアノを弾く姿だった。メモルたちがはじめて見た地球人、マリエルは病弱で孤独な女の子。病気療養のためにベレヌ村の山荘を訪れていたのだった。メモルはマリエルと友達になり、その中でとても大切なことをマリエルに伝えてゆく。
