作品概要

On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike Japan. However, this unprecedented terrorist act, later to be known as "Careless Monday," does not result in any apparent victims, and is soon forgotten by almost everyone. Then, 3 months later... Saki Morimi is a young woman currently in the United States of America on her graduation trip. But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory, is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he's holding in the other. あらすじ

原作・全話脚本・監督は神山健治、キャラクター原案は羽海野チカ、アニメーション制作はProduction I.G。ノイタミナ初のオリジナルストーリーアニメである。テレビ版最高視聴率は5.7パーセント。ノイタミナ初のBlu-ray化となる。記憶喪失の青年と謎の携帯電話を巡るサスペンス・アクション作品。世界観は同監督による『攻殻機動隊S.A.C.』シリーズの前時代に当たるとされており、諸々の繋がりがある。テレビ放送終了後、その後のストーリーを描く劇場版2部作が公開された。第14回アニメーション神戸賞作品賞・テレビ部門受賞、東京アニメアワード2010優秀賞テレビ部門受賞作品。2009年（平成21年）度第13回文化庁メディア芸術祭アニメーション部門審査委員会推薦作品アニメーション部門/長編（劇場公開・テレビアニメ・OVA）に選ばれた。キャッチコピーは「この国の”空気”に戦いを挑んだひとりの男の子と、彼を見守った女の子のたった11日間の物語」。
