Overview

Charlotte is a girl who lives on a farm in Canada. On her 12th birthday, her father tells her that her mother, whom Charlotte has always believed to be dead, is actually alive and living in Paris, but soon she will arrive to live with them! Charlotte is very upset about this at first, but just when she adjusts to the idea, the idea, her father soon dies! Now Charlotte must face many challenges to live. She discovers that her father was from a noble family and her grandfather wants to force Charlotte to return to the family. She doesn't know her mother at all. Meanwhile, a landowner is trying to steal away her father's farm! Poor Charlotte...

Synopsis 日本語

カナダのケベック州にある開拓牧場の一人娘・シャルロットは、父・アンドレや牧場の動物たちと平穏に暮らしていた。しかし彼女が12歳の誕生日を迎えると、アンドレは母・シモーヌが生きていること、そして自身はフランス大貴族・モントバーン家の跡取りであったが、身分を嫌ってカナダへ渡ってきたという秘密を打ち明ける。アンドレはシモーヌをフランスから呼び戻そうとしたが、その矢先に事故死してしまう。父亡き後、シャルロットは牧場を乗っ取ろうとする人の陰謀にも負けず、けなげに生きていく。やがて、母と祖父に会うためフランスへ向かう。謎の少年・ナイトをはじめ人々の蔭からの支えにより、母との再会を果たす。メイフラワーが咲き誇る5月に、シャルロットは自分の幸せをかみしめると同時に、父が亡くなってからのこれまでの苦労を思い出しながら、助けてくれた人たちへの感謝の気持ちで胸が一杯になる。
