本作品は、『週刊少年ジャンプ』（集英社）で1979年より1987年まで連載されていた漫画『キン肉マン』の続編。前作の主人公・キン肉マン（キン肉スグル）の息子・キン肉万太郎を主役として、テリーマンやロビンマスクの息子たちを含む新世代超人（ニュージェネレーション）が活躍する物語である。
