Overview

As maidens from the Five Clans battle for the Crown Prince’s heart, jealous Keigetsu uses forbidden magic to swap bodies with the beloved Reirin. 詠国の後宮には五つの名家のみから婚姻前の女性（雛女）を集め、次世代の妃を育成するための「雛宮」と呼ばれる場所が存在している。五家の1つ「黄家」の雛女・黄玲琳は美しい見た目と優しさから「殿下の胡蝶」と呼ばれ、次期皇后は確実と言われていた。一方、五家の1つ「朱家」の雛女・朱慧月は「雛宮のどぶネズミ」と呼ばれ、宮中の人々から嫌われていた。慧月は誰からも愛される玲琳を妬み、数百年ぶりに箒星が流れた夜に慧月が道術を使用したことで、2人の身体は入れ替わってしまう。さらに慧月は直前に高楼から玲琳を突き飛ばして殺そうと行動していたため、玲琳殺害未遂の全ての責任を慧月の身体に入った玲琳自身が負う羽目になってしまう。道術によって、入れ替わりのことを話そうとすると強制的に黙ってしまうことと、玲琳の日記を入れ替わる前の慧月が盗んでいたことで、玲琳の全ての説明が「慧月が玲琳のフリをして尭明を騙し、寵愛を受けようとした」と解釈されてしまい、獣尋の儀に賭けられてしまう。しかし直前に牢内で渡されていた毒薬を牢内にいたネズミが食べてしまい、そのネズミの死体を玲琳が懐に持ち歩いて、ライオンが玲琳に襲いかかった際、その毒入りのネズミの死体を食べてしまって倒れ、儀式は続行不可能に。結果として玲琳は無罪となった。
