生まれつき盲目であるクノン・グリオンは、幼いころから無気力であった。クノンは侍女のイコ・ラウンドから色や物の名前や形などを教わり、ジェニエ・コースから水魔術を教わっていたところ、魔術で目を作ることを思いついたのであった。魔術が上達し、視力を手に入れればひとりで生きていけるのではないかという希望を持ったクノンは、訓練により魔術の才能を発揮していく。目が見えない状態でも色がわかるようになり、自信を持ったクノンは、明るい性格に変化していく。それにより許嫁のミリカ・ヒューグリアとの関係もよくなっていく。そんなクノンの成長をイコは喜んでいた。
