2年前の7G回線の開通。それが世界を一変させた。急激な緑化と風化、地域の物理的な距離の拡大、異変による数々の混乱で政府もその機能を失った。千倉静留達の住む吾野の近辺では21歳3ヶ月を越えた住民が動物化する異変が発生していた。 2年前に消息を絶った親友の中富葉香を探し求める静留はある日偶然、クロヒョウキャラバンの配達物の包装に使われていた新聞から、葉香の所在を突き止める。静留は善治郎から2000系電車の操縦の仕方を習い、一人旅立とうとした所に星撫子、久賀玲実、東雲晶が駆け付け共に旅立つことになる。静留達は吾野から30駅先、葉香の待つ池袋へと向かう。
