日本の冬木市における第五次聖杯戦争から数年後……。アメリカ西部・スノーフィールドにて、あらゆる願いを叶える万能の願望機「聖杯」発現の予兆が見られた。魔術協会の調査の結果、これは何者かがオリジナルの「聖杯戦争」を模倣したものである事が判明。不完全な模倣ゆえに、在るはずのクラスが欠け、選ばれるはずのないサーヴァントが呼び出されることになる。そして、アメリカのとある国家機関の思惑により、多くの魔術師たちが流れ込み、サーヴァントとマスターによる聖杯を求める争い「偽りの聖杯戦争」が開幕する。
