東京都目黒区洗足を舞台に、陰キャの中二病少年・市川京太郎と陽キャの美少女・山田杏奈の2人が織り成す恋模様を描いたラブコメディである。市川京太郎は中二病を患う中学2年生で、日々殺人の妄想を繰り広げていた。彼は自分と対照的な同級生・山田杏奈から見下されていると思い込んでおり、特に彼女を殺したいと思っていた。ある日、京太郎は山田が学校に食べ物を持ち込み、図書室で食べているのを目撃する。その後も山田は美少女のイメージとはかけ離れた言動をとり、京太郎はそんな彼女を放っておけなくなるが、その理由が分からず煩悶する。そんな折、体育の授業で山田が負傷するアクシデントが起こる。負傷に涙する山田を見ていた京太郎もいつしか泣いており、自分が山田に恋していることを自覚する。一方の山田も当初は京太郎のことを特に気に留めていなかったが、次第に彼に関心を抱き、お気に入りの漫画を貸すなど自分から積極的に交流を図るようになる。そして、2学期最後の登校日に山田は、漫画の続巻を貸すという理由で、クリスマス・イブに京太郎と会う約束を取り付ける。
