岩倉美津未は石川県の過疎地で育った真っ直ぐな性格の少女。中学卒業を機に東京の進学校・つばめ西高校へ入学したぴかぴかの高校生。「私はこの高校生活、ただの一度だって失敗しない!」「大学はもちろんT大」「法学部を首席で卒業」「死んだらお骨は日本海にまいてもらう」などの完璧な人生設計を持っていたが、入学式の当日に道に迷った上に通勤ラッシュに巻き込まれて人酔いし、早くも躓きそうになる。そんな美津未の様子を見て同じ学校の制服を着た背が高いスマートな少年・志摩聡介が声をかけてきて、一緒に学校へ行くことになるが…。
