Synopsis 日本語

近代風情の続く日本である時、文学書が全項黒く染まる異常事態が発生し、同時にそれらの文学書が始めからなかったかのように人々の記憶からも消えていった。「本の中の世界を破壊する侵蝕者」によりもたらされたこの災禍に対処すべく、「アルケミスト」と呼ばれる特殊能力者が国定図書館に派遣され、文学の力を知る「文豪」を転生させて敵を討伐することとなった。このイントロダクションストーリーの後にプロローグ、メインストーリーそして月替わりのイベントによるストーリーなどが展開される。舞台・テレビアニメ等のメディアミックス展開作品では、ゲームストーリーの再現や補完ではなくすべてゲームとは違うオリジナルストーリーが展開する。またストーリーの違いに伴って原作であるゲームストーリー内で明かされている各種設定（図書館の設定・有碍書の浄化方法・文豪の転生方法や存在の説明・侵蝕者のデザイン設定等）も媒体によってすべて違う独自の設定となっている。
