Overview
A short film only screened at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. The nine-minute short adapts a picture book by Rieko Nakagawa and Yuriko Yamawaki, the author and illustrator of two previous books that inspired Ghibli shorts (Sora Iro no Tane, The Whale Hunt). A boy named Yuji and his friend Gick, a rabbit, find a walking stick. To decide which of them will keep it, they try a foot race, a long jump and sumo wrestling, but each ends up in a tie. Out of ideas, the children go to Gick's Granny for help. Granny tells the children to go treasure hunting. Who will be the winner? (Source: Anime News Network, Ghibli Museum)

男の子のゆうじは、ある日屋外で「魔法の杖」のような素敵な棒を見つける。自分のものにしようとしたが、同時に棒を見つけたうさぎのギックも「自分のものだ」と言って譲らない。二人は勝負を付けようと、かけっこや幅跳びや相撲で対戦したが決着が付かなかった。そこで、ギックのおばあちゃんに相談すると、「宝探し」で決めるよう提案される。宝を探しに外に出た二人はさきほどの棒を同時につかんでギックのおばあちゃんのもとに届けた。棒を杖にして楽に歩けるようになったおばあちゃんは二人を抱きしめて喜び、お礼にお菓子とお茶をごちそうするのだった。
