宇宙暦昭和47年、宇宙を旅する異星人の旅一座の宇宙船が、未知の宇宙船と衝突事故を起こす。大破して惑星アニカに墜落した未知船の救助に向かう一行だが、生き残っていたのは両親の犠牲により生き延びた赤ん坊ただひとりだった。彼らはその子の母星からの救助が来るまで惑星アニカに留まり、未知船に代わって遭難信号を発しながら、その子の家族を演じて成長を見守る事にする。そして4年の歳月が流れた。
